Some of the healthiest snacks that you can possibly give to your children are raw fruits and vegetables. The hard part about this is that many children do not necessarily like to eat this type of food and may turn their nose up at it, before they even begin eating in the first place. This is especially the case when you are trying to feed them something that you may think is a good but they know that it does not quite taste as good as a Twinkie. One thing that you can do is to get a little bit creative and make snack time fun. It’s going to take a little bit more work on your part but the benefits that are going to come to your children are going to make it all well worth the effort. For example, many children enjoy the sweet taste of smoothies and you can make this rather interesting by adding some green vegetables into it. The taste of the vegetables can easily be drowned out with a banana and the green color often makes for a very fun snack. Not only is it fun but it is also one of the most nutritious things that you can possibly give your child to snack on.



Another thing that you may want to try giving your children on a regular basis are some nuts and seeds. Be careful not to overdo it on the nuts as they can be rather calorie dense. Seeds are a healthy alternative and a mixture between the two with some raisins thrown in make a very healthy and enjoyable trail mix. I will often get some raw almonds and soak them for about 12 hours, rinsing them once or twice during the process. I then dehydrate them at a low temperature until they’re crunchy and they become an enzyme packed, crunchy and healthy treat for my children.

You may also want to give them other treats along with the snacks, such as milk products or healthy grains. You should also always include water with snacks and keep your children hydrated properly as this will do a lot for their health as well. Be proactive about the snacks that you are giving your children and keep them healthy, they are worth the effort.
